ABOUT THE STUDY PROGRAM OF INFORMATION SYSTEM
Currently, the Study Program of Information System is one of the favourite departments in computer studies. If compared to the other computer studies such as Informatics Engineering and Computer Science, this study program of Information System is still relatively new. It is a combination of human resources, facilities or technological tools, media, procedures and control intended to organize important communication network, certain and routine processes or transactions, to support the management and internal and external users, and to prepare the basis referred to when making accurate decisions. The information system available at a company causes the information related to the departments it has to flow fast without any obstruction. The interaction among the departments potentially gives information to its management on its weaknesses and strengths as well as on the business environment where it is located. The information on the business environment where it is located can be exemplified by the information on the company’s consumers/the products that the company produces, its surrounding society, its regulators, its competitors, etc. The information system allows the company to optimize the existing resources.

WHAT IS LEARNED IN THE STUDY PROGRAM OF INFORMATION SYSTEM? What is learned in the Study Program of Information System (undergraduate level) is how to design an accurate system based on the goal of an organization or company, its needs and business processes. The Study Program of Information System is also well-known as the Study Program of Informatics Management. Both learn Informatics Engineering as a bridge in the business world. Simply, both the students of the Study Program of Informatics System and the Study Program of Informatics Management are educated to be able to understand and fulfil the Information Technology needed by clients or users to support their businesses or organizations. The students are trained in such a way that they are able to develop, take advantage of, and manage the software and hardware available in the business world and individuals. This Study Program is good for the students who intend to learn Information Technology but who are not too interested in learning the programming-related things, or who intend to acquire business and management sciences at the same time. It is also good for the students who are fond of working with many people; they certainly should have good communication skills. So, it is not true that those who are good at Information Technology are always identical with those who are not good at socializing.
