Becoming the leading and nationally and internationally quality study program that develops and applies the mental health-based, the environment-oriented, and the norm-and ethics-based indigenous psychology to support the welfare of mankind.

Mission :

  • • Carrying out education in psychology in accordance with the national standard of higher education in order to produce the quality and competitive graduates both in the national and international levels.
  • • Carrying out research in psychology in general and mental healdh psychology in particular, based on the local/indigenous socio-cultural condition, and developing applied psychology.
  • • Carrying out research on the development and application of psychology to the psychological environment, starting from the family environment to the wide community environment.
  • • Carrying out the dissemination of the application of psychology as the form of community service useful to improve the quality of psychological services;
  • • Establishing collaborations and partnerships in the psychological field in order to ensure the sustainable development and improvement of the quality of the Study Program of Psychology

ABOUT THE STUDY PROGRAM OF PSYCHOLOGY

The Study Program of Psychology of Bali Dwipa University is one of the study programs concerned with the science and applied science of human behaviour, mental function, and scientific mental processes. The practitioners in psychology are rereferred to as psychologists; they try to learn the role played by the mental function in individual and collective behaviors, and the physiological and neurobiological processes leading to behaviour. Psychology is one of the disciplines concerned with the mental behaviour. It does not only describe what we do and how we behave, but it also investigates the flow of thought and the reasoning of what we do, starting from what is perceived of, what is cognitively confessed to interpersonal relations. The psychological theory and information are frequently used to solve problems.


WHAT IS LEARNED IN THE STUDY PROGRAM OF PSYCHOLOGY?

Learning Psychology is a combinationof science and art, causing it to be an interesting experience. The areas of interest in psychology are: Industrial and Organizational Psychology; Clinical Psychology; Social Psychology; Developmental Psychology and Educational Psychology. Apart from General Basic Courses, there are also the other courses concerned with psychology in the beginning of semester; they are Personality Psychology which learns the history and basic philosophy of personality groupings, personality types, etc.; General Psychology, which is concerned with all aspects of psychology, closer to the introduction to what is learned in psychology; Clinical Psychology, which is concerned with mental problems, types of mental diseases, including how to solve them; Developmental Psychology, which is concered with the science of the development of humankind, starting from when one is born to when one is old. In the beginning of semester, all are generally learned. Then they are sub-divided. As an illustration, Developmental Psychology is sub-divided into Child Development Psychology, Pscyhology for Elderly People etc. They are usually offered as Elective Courses.
