ABOUT THE STUDY PROGRAM OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE
The Study Program of English Language of Bali Dwipa University is intended to produce human resources with the knowledge and skills needed in the English language-related professions such as in industries, service sector, trading and manufacturing sectors. As well, the Study Program of English Langauge is also intended to prepare human resources who have every ability and skill in foreign languages (namely, English language), and information technology. More and more companies in every part of the world require the English language speaking employees. When every part of the world is getting connected to each other, it is natural that the companies wish that their existences keep relevant and competitive. Currently, everybody tries to learn and communicate in English, which has been commonly used by all circles of society both in and outside employment. English has been used as a weapon when running a business. English allows the companies to find clients, costumers, and partners, causing their businesses to keep developing. As an illustration, when one wishes to go abroad to start a business, one needs the English speaking ability as one of the main capitals. When one apllies for a job, one’s English speaking ability will allow one to be automatically classified as one of the applicants treated as the above priority. The ability in English language is one of the qualifications badly needed in every profession. It will be difficult to compete if not having such a qualification.
WHAT IS LEARNED IN THE STUDY PROGRAM OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE?
In the Study Program of English Language, the students learn the contents, artistic features, aesthetics, and the beauty of English texts or literary works. The students will learn different written literary works such as novels, dramas and poems. In addition, you will also learn English linguistics in depth. Although studying English language is intended to improve your analytic ability by observing different literary works, it is also highly possible that you will be able to write literary works of your own. In this Study Program you will learn the literary works written by William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe, etc. If you are interested in understanding the contents, linguistic features and their translation versions, you are suggested to choose this Study Program. Apart from that, the abilities to read, write, and understand the contents of the English literary works are required in the learning process of the Study Program.
